Léviathan Anish Kapoor - MONUMENTA 2011.

L'évenement MONUMENTA, organisé par le ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, invite chaque année un artiste contemporain de renommée internationale à investir les 13 500 m² de la Nef du Grand Palais avec une œuvre spécialement conçue pour l’occasion.
Le sculpteur britannique d'origine indienne Anish Kapoor présente "Leviathan", une immense sculpture impressionnante, vide de près de 80.000 m3, formant une grande enveloppe rouge sombre.
Le visiteur est invité à un étrange voyage à l'intérieur du monstre, dans un espace sombre. En sortant, il est ensuite confronté à un mur de couleur rouge de plus de 35 m de haut, sans recul, ce qui provoque un sentiment de vulnérabilité et de petitesse.

MONUMENTA event, organized by the Culture and Communication Ministry, invites each year a contemporary artist of international renown to invest 13 500 m² of the Grand Palais with a work specially designed for the event.
Anish Kapoor, British sculptor from Indian origin, presents this "Leviathan", a huge sculpture impressive gap of nearly 80,000 m3, forming a large dark red envelope.
The visitor is invited to a strange trip inside of the monster in a dark space. On leaving, he is then confronted with a wall of red over 35 meters high, recoilless, causing a feeling of smallness and vulnerability.
